Big 4 Holiday Parks- We’ve teamed up with Amaze to release Australia’s first social script for holiday parks, an essential tool for autistic people and their families to prepare for a holiday and travel.

The script uses storytelling techniques to explain the experiences and environment commonly found in holiday parks and what autistic people can expect during their time there.

Brisbane airport -   Airports are busy environments and for some people this can be a stressful experience, especially if you or someone with you has a disability such as autism that isn’t immediately obvious to airport staff.   

Canberra Airport -  Canberra Airport is committed to providing a terminal that is readily accessible by all members of the community.

Gladstone Lions Park -  The Gladstone Lions Park focuses on sensory engagement and is designed to encourage people of all abilities to play together.

Gold Coast Airport’s AmbassaPAW Program  - This program engages volunteer therapy dogs to help alleviate the stress often associated with travelling. Feel free to stop in for a cuddle with the furriest members of our GCA Ambassador Team, Ranji and Gary. ‍

Gold Coast Airport -  The Gold Coast Airport have implemented a program to assist you on your journey.  This program caters for adults, children and their families and friends, providing a way for you to pre-plan your journey or let our staff know you may need support.

Questacon -  The national science and technology center. We have resources available for visitors on the Autism spectrum. There is a quiet space, the Cloud Chamber, in the alcove between Galleries 2 and 3. There are also quiet spaces around the building - ask staff for your nearest quiet space. Earmuffs are available for free hire at the information desk.

The National Dinosaur museum - The museum contains several animatronic dinosaurs which will move and make sounds when the sensors are triggered as visitors walk past. We appreciate that some visitors may be noise sensitive and we offer a quiet morning every Tuesday morning from 10am-12pm (excluding ACT/NSW school holidays) when the animatronics will be switched off to allow for a more peaceful viewing experience. Over the ACT/NSW school holiday periods, we will not be able to offer this service.

Village cinemas - We are proud to bring Sensory Friendly Films to autistic people. Sensory Friendly Films allow families to enjoy their favourite films in a safe and accepting environment with the cinema lights turned up and the sound turned down. Look for the orange "Sensory Friendly Film" icon  next to the session times to see which cinemas and sessions are screening these films.
